Holiday food drive supports local families in need

Canyon Hills ROTC holding a thanksgiving food drive to help those in need this thanksgiving.

The food drive is to provide and support families in need of food during the holiday season. Those with extra canned foods and non-perishables can use this opportunity to donate the extra food they have or what they can to help. The food drive is a great way to give to and provide for others that need it most.

“I’m going to be donating food because my family has a lot of canned stuff that we don’t need or use, and other food that can still be eaten that we have no need for” Keira Evans stated (member of ASB)

“Food drives are a good way for people who have extra food to give it to people who don’t have as much or don’t have anything, and it also represents what the holiday season is all about which is being thankful for what you have but also being able to give to others in need,” senior Meleana Altomare says.

Why are we running the food drive here at Canyon Hills? Who initiated the food drive?

Canyon Hills NJROTC (Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) along with ASB introduces a food drive to help everyone assist in giving back this holiday season as well as fighting against hunger.

“ASB and ROTC wanted to help out and give back to hungry families and just be able to show our holiday spirit by giving,” Keira Evans says (member of ASB).
