KSON Country Christmas dazzled fans on December 7, featuring performances by rising stars Megan Moroney, Tucker Wetmore, and Tyler Braden, celebrating the holiday season with unforgettable country music.
Tyler Braden
I had never heard of Tyler Braden before, but I was pleasantly surprised by his performance. His powerful voice and the way he connected with the crowd stood out immediately. His music blended traditional country elements with a fresh, modern twist that I really enjoyed. The lyrics were heartfelt and raw, touching on themes of personal struggles and relationships, which made it easy to connect with his songs. Even though I was unfamiliar with him going into the show, I found myself really enjoying his set. Tyler definitely has a unique style, and I can see why he’s starting to make a name for himself in country music.
Tucker Wetmore
I’m a big fan of Tucker Wetmore, so seeing him perform live was an awesome experience. His EP, Waves On A Sunset, is one of my favorites, and hearing the songs live was even better. He performed his two biggest hits, “Wind Up Missin’ You” and “Wine Into Whiskey,” and the crowd absolutely loved it. At the end of his song “Wind Up Missin’ You,” he had the crowd sing back the last verse which was…
You look like waves on a sunset
And you can crash on me all night
You look like wine in a truck bed
A little what I’m doing for the rest of my life ’cause
You look like I’m done looking
But, girl, the hard truth is
If this night don’t turn into two
You look like I’m gonna wind up missin’ you
Wind up missin’ you
There’s something about his voice that’s both smooth and raw, giving his songs a unique depth that you don’t get from just listening to the tracks. His stage presence was great although he didn’t really have a voice, since he has been on tour since October. Tucker has this undeniable energy that makes his shows memorable. And I couldn’t help but notice how much he resembled Morgan Wallen, which added an extra layer of fun to the night. His blend of heartfelt lyrics and modern country style definitely makes him stand out, and I can’t wait to see what he does next. With his growing fanbase and undeniable talent, Tucker Wetmore is definitely an artist to watch!
Megan Moroney
She was the headliner and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. Megan is a 27-year old country artist from Savannah, GA. She started her music career in 2022 with an EP titled Pistol Made of Roses, then just 2 months after the release of this EP, she released one of her most popular songs “Tennessee Orange” which now has over 300 million streams. Then just months after the release of this song, she released her first studio album Lucky. This album features some other extremely popular songs such as “I’m Not Pretty” and “Lucky”. About a year after the release of this album, she then released her second album titled Am I Okay, which made its debut on July 12th, 2024, which featured a couple more extremely popular songs such as “Man on the Moon” and “Indifferent.” I wasn’t the biggest fan of Moroney but my sister was and that is how I ended up going to the concert. I also heard that Tucker Wetmore was going and couldn’t turn down the opportunity to see one of my favorite artists. After hearing Megan live in concert and seeing the way she performs, I will 100% be listening to more of her music. She is so electric, and she loves to have so much fun with fans. The stage started off almost completely dark, with the exception of her 5 LED lights, a cowboy boot, a horseshoe, a 4 leaf clover (which was her inspiration behind her album Lucky), two dice, and a smiley face. Then out of nowhere Megan walks out in the most beautiful sparkly black dress. She says “My name is Megan Moroney” then pauses for a second and follows it up with “anybody feeling lucky?” Everyone knew from that second, she was going to play her song “Lucky”. This setlist was full of some incredible songs such as “Man on the Moon” then she surprised fans by playing the song “Noah”, she then changed into her ugly Christmas sweater, and saung one of her newly released songs “All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy.” She finished with the song “Am I Okay” but the last part of the song, she let the crowd sing it back to her the last 3 lines in her song,
Not crying and dying and messing me up
I think I’m really happy, I think I want to stay
Oh, my God, am I okay?
Megan is an incredible performer and I would definitely recommend seeing her if you are a country fan whenever you have the opportunity to. Initially I wasn’t a huge fan of her but after seeing her it changed my mind.
Overall this concert gets an
8.5 out of 10. I really enjoyed listening to Tucker Wetmore, as he is one of my favorite artists right now, along with Megan Moroney and Tyler Braden. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that they chose to bring Tucker Wetmore, now let me explain. I am a huge fan of his, but the problem was that he has been on tour since October so by the time he had come to San Diego, his voice was completely gone. I think if they were to find someone such as Morgan Wallen or Bailey Zimmerman, who aren’t on tour right now, and have them perform it would’ve been better since they only performed the one time and aren’t exhausted.
