Takeoff, hip hop artist of Migos, dead at 28
The passing of Kirshnik Ball, mostly known as rapper TakeOff, one of the most beloved members of the hip-hop trio Migos, who helped define Atlanta’s rap community evolve, was shot dead at just 28 years old.
The cause of death was announced at the Houston Police Department by Chief Troy Finner after Takeoff died suddenly and unexpectedly. The news of his death has come as a shock to the music community and fans all over the world.
Takeoff was a key member of Migos and was known for his unique and powerful rapping style. He was also a talented producer and was responsible for some of the group’s biggest hits.
Migos rose to fame in 2013 with their breakout single “Versace”, and since then, they have been one of the most successful and popular hip-hop groups in the world. They have released one of their most successful albums, “Culture”, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Nothing ever really bothered to Take and he didn’t bother anybody. He is the most unbothered person in the world. He never got mad, he ever raised his voice, and when he did, he silenced the room” Quavious Marshall, known as Quavo, wrote, “because what Take said was law and he wasn’t changing his mind”.
Takeoff’s death impacted the rap scene, with major rap celebrities contributing their thoughts and prayers to him such as Cardi B, Future, and Drake. The two other members of the Migos were heavily affected by this, both seen at his funeral with Offset crying during his speech at Takeoff’s funeral.
Takeoff was the latest rapper to die of gun violence following Rapper PnB Rock who was shot in Southern Los Angeles in September they were both heavily respected rappers in the rap community along with their family and friends who supported their journey throughout their careers.
