Friday, March 14th, is National Pi Day! Math teachers on campus, like Mr. Adams, celebrate this day by bringing their students pie.
Mr. Adams included a variety of pies for his students to enjoy, such as lemon pie, apple pie, pumpkin pie, strawberry cream pie, chocolate cream pie, pecan pie, cherry pie, and blueberry pie.
“I just like treating my students to pie. It’s a fun math holiday once a year, and I like to spoil them a little bit.” Mr. Adams commented.

He thought this year’s Pi Day went well, stating that it went as each year usually goes with no complications overall, and his students seemed to enjoy the free pie.
According to Mr. Adams, pumpkin pie was a favorite among the students, running out first, followed by the chocolate and strawberry cream pies, but where does he get these pies from?
“The past several years, I’ve bought them at Walmart. Before that, I would buy them, like the Hostess ones, I would buy them at Vons or Smart and Final, but those were harder to find. There was actually one year where I made the pies at home.”
Mr. Adams did not recommend making the pies at home, and he claims he would never do that again for his annual tradition.
For his students, it was a regular testing day. Pie day was like a nice free treat, rewarding their hard work, eating, and gossiping with friends!
