Canyon Hills softball is stepping onto a brand-new field this season, a major upgrade that ushers in a new era for the program.
The Canyon Hills High School softball team is beginning a new chapter this season, one that comes with fresh grass, upgraded dugouts, and an overall revitalized playing environment. After years of competing on their previous field, the program now boasts a facility that rivals some of the best in the area, drawing comparisons to the fields at San Diego High School and Scripps Ranch High School.
For the incoming freshman class and future players, this upgrade is a game-changer. Walking onto a pristine field with modern amenities sets a new standard for the program and enhances the overall playing experience. The transformation not only provides a more professional atmosphere but also reflects the school’s commitment to its growing softball program.

One of the most striking aspects of the new field is its similarity to those at San Diego High and Scripps Ranch. Both schools are known for their high-quality softball facilities, and Canyon Hills has now joined that conversation. The layout, fencing, and dugout structures all carry a familiar look, making it evident that Canyon Hills has taken inspiration from some of the top fields in the city.
For current players, the change is bittersweet, as they spent years competing on the previous field, but there is no doubt that the new facility will elevate the program moving forward.
“This is such an exciting time to be part of Canyon Hills softball,” freshman Jaylyn Avery said. “Getting to start my high school career on a brand-new field is something really special, and I know it’s going to make a huge difference for our team.”
Sophomore Kimberly Zavala echoed that sentiment, emphasizing how the new field raises the bar for the program.
“It already feels like we’re playing at a higher level,” Zavala said. “Everything about this field just gives us more confidence and energy when we step onto it. It’s a huge step forward for our team.”
Canyon Hills will break in the new field with their first home game on Thursday, March 20, at 4 p.m. versus Oceanside. It’s the perfect opportunity for students, families, and the community to come out, support the team, and experience the excitement firsthand.
