Everyone knows about what teachers do during the day, but what about the attendance administrator? Miss Lissi Perretta works in the front office managing all the student’s attendance. After speaking with her, I got a full explanation of what she does throughout her busy days. Each morning she comes into school, she starts by collecting and inputting the attendance from the sheets she receives or emails. She excuses the absences from the parents who have called in or emailed from the day and also starts writing the blue slips for people leaving early.
She explained how she makes “phone calls all the time, some days are busier than others but the majority of the time her job is very busy.” She’s always doing something, whether it’s “talking to parents, talking to kids, or verifying absences” She’s always moving. She talks to a lot of parents when making phone calls to verify the children’s absences or tardies. She is in charge of updating all the stuff in PowerSchool and also writing blue slips all day. Not only does she do all of the attendance but she also does a lot of office work. She is greatly appreciated by all her students at Canyon Hills High School.
