Wild card weekend finally. The season is coming to an end.
Everybody at home or at the stadiums will be cheering on their teams to progress in the playoffs and hopefully go to the Super Bowl.
The first game of the wild card weekend starts with the Los Angeles Chargers vs the
Houston Texans at 1:30 pm Saturday Pacific Standard Time. This game was something alright. The game was very slow at first in the first 2 quarters. The Chargers kicked two field goals to go up by 6 early on. Then in the second quarter, the Texans scored a touchdown and kicked a field goal to make the score 6-10 by halftime. At the beginning of the fourth quarter the Chargers finally scored again after being down 6-23 quarterback Justin Herbert connected with Ladd McConkey for an 86-yard touchdown. The Texans quarterback CJ Stroud had a really good game he threw for 22 completed passes out of the 33 he threw. CJ had 1 TD with 282 yards and 1 interception. While on the other hand, Justin Herbert went 14 out of 32 with 242 yards 1 TD, and 4 interceptions. If Justin Herbert didn’t throw 4 interceptions this game would’ve been way better and I think the Chargers would have won.
The second game that is played is the Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Baltimore Ravens
at 5:00 pm on Saturday. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry had a crazy game. The score was 28-14. In the first half, the Ravens scored 21 points and the Steelers didn’t score at all. In the third quarter, the Steelers started looking alive and put up 14 points but in the fourth quarter, the Ravens scored and held the ball for the last 6 minutes ending the game without even giving the Steelers another chance to score. Lamar Jackson threw 16-21 he had 175 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Derrick Henry he’s a madman he had 26 carries with 186 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson threw 20/29 with 2 TDS and 270 yards. Russell Wilson had a better game than Lamar but just no other players for the Steelers offense did well besides Russell and Geroge Pickens.
The third game that will be played starting Sunday is the Denver Broncos vs the Buffalo Bills at noon. The Broncos got destroyed 7-31. The Broncos were holding up their own and doing well then Josh Allen locked in and just started destroying the Broncos’ defense and the Bills’ defense was stopping the Broncos’ offense. The quarterback for the Buffalo Bills Josh Allen had a great game he went 20/26 with 272 yards and 2 TDs. On the other hand, Bo Nix went 13/22, 144 yards and 1 TD. Overall we all knew the Bills were gonna win so this wasn’t a shocker.
The fourth game is at 1:30 pm the two teams that play are the Green Bay Packers vs the Philadelphia Eagles. The battle of greens I like to say. The Packers played horribly. They only did well in the third and fourth quarters. The Eagles started hot in the first quarter but didn’t pick it back up until the third quarter. The score was 10-22 in the end. The Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw for 20/30 with 212 yards but had thrown 3 interceptions that was definitely what caused them to lose. The Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw 13/21 with 2 TDs and 131 yards. Overall if Jordan Love never threw those interceptions I think the Packers could have moved on to the next round of playoffs.
The fifth game is at 5:00 pm the two teams that play are the Washington Commanders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. By far this is either the best or the second-best game of the wild card weekend. The game was very close between the Washington Commanders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jayden Daniels the Commanders quarterback threw for 24/35 with 2 Tds and 268 yards while Baker Mayfield the Buccaneers quarterback threw 15/18 with 2 Tds and 185 yards. The game was very close until the Washington Commanders kicker kicked a game-winning doink field goal. The crowd was going crazy and everyone was in shock.
The last game that is played is on Monday at 5:00 pm the two teams are the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams. This game on Monday was a shocker to me i thought the Vikings were gonna win and beat the Rams but instead, they lost. The score was 9-27. The Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold did horribly out of 40 passes thrown he only completed 25 and only had 1 TD 1 interception and 245 yards. I feel that Sam Darnold played badly because this game was his first-ever playoff game and his opponent QB is a veteran of playoff games and has won a Super Bowl before. Matthew Staford threw 19/27 with 209 yards and 2 Tds
