As second semester is just around the corner, it’s that time of year when college decisions come out.

Canyon Hills High School seniors are filled with excitement and anticipation as decisions come out. Choosing where you will spend the next four years of your life can be one of the biggest decisions you’ll have ever made in your life. This is one of the most stressful years of high school; from applications, to scholarship applications, Rejections, brag sheets, acceptance, waitlists, and everything in between. There’s so many emotions that come out of this because of all the decisions having to be made.
For some people it’s the proximity to home, the financial state, sports, and even if the college offers the major they want to study and if it’s a good program. However, social media can actually help students make decisions. Tiktok offers a variety of different videos of the day in the lives of students and what they do at their specific college. Many colleges have social media accounts that you can follow to stay up to date on their campus and what’s going on around them. Most importantly, students are searching for the perfect experience. Where they can make new friends, go out of their comfort zone, do what they love, and start a life of their own. This is the biggest chance for students to learn and grow on their own, and experience things in the real world.

Hal’e and Anna are lucky enough to already know exactly where they are going. Hal’e is going to Trevecca Nazarene University to pursue her love for academics and sports. She will be playing DII Softball while also studying in MultiMedia Journalism. She has been verbally committed to Trevecca since the start of her senior year and officially signed just this last November. Anna Hagerty is also pursuing her love for learning. She will be studying Marketing at the University of Arizona.
College decisions are the farthest thing from simple. Having to weigh the pros and cons of each and every school while figuring out how to navigate things going wrong is never easy. We know that wherever our students will go, they’ll carry the Canyon Hills legacy with them forever!
