Recently CHHS varsity volleyball experienced their senior night with heartfelt moments and a victorious win.
“It was superfun, I liked how they got flowers and stuff,” Maliah, freshman volleyball player said. “It was so sweet, it made me cry.”
Before the game, seniors from the San Diego high school volleyball team were called on one by one. Each senior received a gift to show the CHHS appreciation towards playing them. Afterwards, CHHS cheerleaders created a tunnel for CHHS varsity seniors to walk through when being called on. Each senior was called on, and walked through the tunnel made by the cheerleaders with their families. As that happened their coach, coach Taylor, explains each player’s goals in life, funny moments in volleyball, and their inspirations.
“I felt proud for the seniors and excited, and I liked the way they appreciated them. I didn’t like the thought of like that being their last time playing,” Nicollette freshman volleyball player said, “And thinking about how they feel about it. I felt proud of them when they won.”
During the whole game CHHS cheerleaders cheered on the girls giving them the support they needed. The bench and the crows cheered on for the CHHS girls also. Even though they lost one set they won 3 other sets which made them claim their victory for their night.
“I felt really happy on the Senior night, it was one of my favorite volleyball games because of everyone in the stands cheering on the team and the bench was very loud.” Kenzy varsity volleyball player said.
CHHS varsity wins their game by a jump serve by #11. The crowd and the bench cheered on for the victory of CHHS varsity volleyball. The cheerleaders did a final cheer in front of the crowd to show the victory for varsity. “Overall it was a really fun game that I enjoyed cheering for and playing in a bit and I was very happy that we won.” Kenzy said.
