From the beginning of “We Live In Time,” there was a heavy feeling in the atmosphere. When I went to watch the movie, I did not fully know what to expect but as the lights dimmed, so did the energy in the theater. “We Live in Time” was directed by John Crowley about a woman with cancer. This movie has gained a lot of attraction due to the main characters of the movie being played by Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
“We Live In Time” is a movie that follows a woman named Almut, played by Florence Pugh, as she deals with ovarian cancer alongside her partner Tobias, Andrew Garfield. Throughout the movie it jumps around from many different stages in their life together, from when they first met, to her after her death. Almut is a chef and restaurant owner who is told to stop working once she is diagnosed with Cancer. But because she has a passion for it, she continues to pursue her dream in secret.
“We Live in Time” was a wonderful but sad movie as it explored the life of someone who knew it was about to end. Florence Pugh truly captured the emotions that she was going through, and it made the viewers feel more connected to her as they watched. As I watched how Tobias and Almut interacted, it felt as if I was in the room with them and experiencing the same emotions.
Although I enjoyed watching this movie, in the beginning it was a little confusing due to the fact that the timeline jumps around. The movie does not go in chronological order, and when it switches between times it is not labeled and so it caused both me and the others in the theater to become confused as to what year it was. I believe that if it was labeled it would have made the movie much easier to understand and follow.
Overall, I really liked watching “We Live In Time” because of its deep emotions and how well the actors perceived their characters’ feelings. It seemed like they really embraced their roles in this movie, and their dynamic together made this movie an enjoyable experience. Out of ten I would give this movie a 7.5/10.
