“Bronco Day at Cal Poly Pomona is like a big welcome party for people who are thinking about becoming part of our university family. It’s not just any old open house, it’s a special event where everyone can see firsthand what makes the school so awesome” Said the first student tour guide as he showed us around the campus.
You get to check out all the different classes and departments, like Engineering and Business, and see all the amazing things they’re doing. There are fun demonstrations, workshops, and interesting presentations happening all over the place. You can even talk to teachers and students to get the inside scoop on what it’s really like to study here.
The library was probably my favorite part. It was huge and the top floor had a view of the whole campus and the cafeteria looked like they served some amazing food and it’s all you can eat .
But Bronco Day isn’t just about school stuff. It’s also a chance to see what life is like outside of class. You can explore all the cool places on campus, like the CLA Building and the Innovation Brew Works. There are tours led by students who know all the best spots and can tell you everything you want to know about living here. And you can learn about all the things to do, like joining clubs, going to sports games, or just hanging out with friends.
I asked one of the tour guides. Could you tell us a bit about why you think Cal Poly Pomona is a great choice for prospective students?
Tour Guide: “Absolutely! I’m happy to share why I believe Cal Poly Pomona is an excellent choice. First off, our university is known for its hands-on learning approach. Here, students don’t just sit in lectures all day; they get their hands dirty and dive right into real-world projects. Whether it’s building robots in the Engineering department or creating business plans in the College of Business Administration, our students are constantly gaining practical experience that prepares them for their future careers,”.
One of the things that makes Cal Poly Pomona so special is that we’re all about diversity and inclusion. Bronco Day celebrates that by showing off all the different cultures and backgrounds that make up our community. You can see performances from all over the world and try delicious food from different countries. It’s a really cool way to learn about different cultures and make new friends.
For high school students thinking about coming here, Bronco Day is a chance to imagine yourself as part of our family. You can see what it’s like to be a student here, meet people who could be your future classmates, and get excited about all the cool things you could do. It’s a day full of inspiration and possibility, where you can dream big and see that Cal Poly Pomona is a place where those dreams can come true.
