Free agent frenzy just wrapped up, and there were many changes across the league, many big names signing with other teams in their former conferences or even division rivals, and many insane trades that left fans in shock. But how is this going to impact the season next year?
The biggest signing was the Philadelphia Eagles signing former Giants Running Back, Saquon Barkley. This was hands down the biggest signing that shocked fans. Even not being a fan of the Eagles of Giants I was shocked that Saquon left New York. I get it though, he wants a better chance of retiring with a Super Bowl ring. But the fact that he stayed in the same conference as the Giants is insane.
The biggest trade of this offseason was definitely Stefon Diggs going to the Houston Texans. The Texans gave up only a second round draft pick in 2025. Stefon Diggs is worth more than just one draft pick. He has been the top receiver for the Bills since the start of the Josh Allen era in Buffalo. The Bills are just making a bunch of decisions that are useless and are going to make them worse next year. Not only did they get rid of Stefon Diggs but also they got rid of Gabe Davis. The Bills are not looking promising going into the 2024-2025 NFL Season.
Some other notable players that were signed this offseason was QB Kirk Cousins. He was a Minnesota Viking for 6 years and then he just signed a 4 year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Although there is no Justin Jefferson in Atlanta, the Falcons already have some other great weapons for Cousins such as Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts. These three may be no Justin Jefferson, but they are pretty solid.
Top Running Back Josh Jacobs also signed a deal with the Green Bay Packers. This will give Jordan Love a weapon as Aaron Jones is now a Minnesota Viking. Jacobs is a better running back than Jones stat wise, but he will have to prove that he is a better RB than Jones this upcoming season.
Many Running Backs came off the board early in Free Agency. One of them being King Henry himself. The Derrick Henry era is done in Tennessee as Derrick Henry is now a Baltimore Raven. This isn’t anything new as you already have Lamar Jackson who is pretty much a running back that can throw as their quarterback and now you add King Henry to that offense. The Ravens were already contenders but now adding Henry, they might be AFC favorites this season.
This year’s NFL Season is going to be one to remember.
